Need for a Technical QA Lead

A company with a junior QA team needed to deliver a high quality product to an important customer on a tight schedule. A Nails QA technical lead was sent in to help the QA team, which lacked technical skills and knowledge of test strategies.

After reviewing project documentation, a QA strategy and test plan were created by the Nails QA lead. The QA team then developed detailed supporting schedules and test cases. The test environment was also evaluated and strengthened. Nails QA provided weekly QA status and bi-weekly defect summary reports, which raised awareness and fostered improved communications.

As a result, QA planning and testing tasks were completed quickly and all development milestones were achieved on time. The product was then delivered to the customer with high quality. The QA team had also expanded their skill set, learned new technologies and gained exposure to QA and testing best practices. This enabled them to conduct effective strategic planning going forward.
