Hold the puzzle as illustrated, with the head of Nail 1 in your left hand and the head of Nail 2 in your right hand.

Keeping Nail 2 still, move Nail 1 to the right so that it's point crosses the point of Nail 2.





diagram 3 Step Three
Let the point of Nail 1 fall away from you so the nails point in opposite directions.






diagram 4 Step Four
Slide the heads of both nails towards each other and they will come apart.
